You want a beautiful wedding, surrounded by those you love, in an exotic location. With a Destination Wedding, you have more time to see friends and family, taking the stress out of trying to see everyone in a few hours, making the entire experience memorable. A Destination Wedding is typically less expensive than a traditional wedding, with current venues lowering capacity, it makes sense. If you envision any of the above a Destination Wedding is a wonderful choice. You marry in an exotic location, surrounded by those you love without the hassle of planning one in the states. Riverside Tours and Travel not only specializes in all-inclusive Destination Weddings, but we also have yearly training and are listed as the preferred partner for many of the all-inclusive resorts in the islands.
Most Destination Weddings include the preparation of the marriage documents, ceremony, officiant, chairs, cake,
small Bridal bouquet and Groom’s boutonniere, to name a few. Depending on the number of guests, your room and extras are included. Things typically not included are hair, makeup, photography, and some reception extras. Based on where you marry and which resort you choose will dictate what your inclusions are. Some resorts are very generous with inclusions some are not. Riverside Tours and Travel knows which resorts offer the most inclusions for our couples and will work to ensure you receive all your wedding perks. We ensure you receive all of your group benefits and your wedding inclusions are correct so everything is seamless.
While the wedding couple typically stays seven nights, most guests stay three nights, with some guests choosing to extend their stay. An example of this is when the bride and groom marry on a Saturday, everyone flys in on Thursday, and then the guests leave on that Sunday, giving the bride and groom time for their honeymoon. We look for resorts that have the best amenities and rates for you and your guests. Once your room and wedding are booked, we give you the details for your guests. As each guest then reaches out to us, with questions or to book, we let you know, this alleviates everyone coming to you with questions. We keep an updated list of guests to email you as they book ensuring all guests are part of the group and counted towards your complimentary amenities.
When choosing a location, knowing the marriage requirements for the location is a must. Some require 48 hours of residency while others require 72 hours. In addition, some require blood tests or medical exams. Riverside Tours and Travel knows each location requirement. Do you know the difference between civil, religious, and symbolic Destination Weddings? Each is different and has separate requirements in different locations. Ask our Destination Wedding Specialist to work with you to ensure all requirements are met.
You should plan your Destination Wedding at least one year out if possible or more. This allows your dates and time to be available and it allows time for your guests to pay for their stay. If you choose a popular date, be sure to book at least two years in advance to ensure availability. With more and more couples opting for a Destination Wedding, dates go quickly, so book early, or be flexible on your dates. When booking early this allows time for invites, guests to commit and for you to relax and not feel rushed which is one of the many reasons for a Destination Wedding.
You now have your date and the ceremony planning started. Don't forget about the reception. Yes, all food and drinks are included at the resort but your reception is considered a private event. Your reception is something you received complimentary or you have add-ons you want to purchase. Think about your reception, do you want something short and simple, so guests can go about the resort? Or do you want something intimate and fun with a DJ and dance floor? Not to worry, we are with you every step of the way ensuring your wedding is as simple or elaborate as you wish.
